China is in the news a lot these days regarding tariffs and Taiwan. Tariffs aside for the time being, what are the chances that China would invade Taiwan? An attack on Taiwan would have catastrophic financial and geo-political ramifications reverberating around the world. China has repeatedly voiced the opinion that Taiwan is part of the mainland – the Taiwanese are a Chinese people after all. China does want to reunite Taiwan with its empire because it stands in the way of broader control over the South China Sea and beyond. China’s Mars line (relocation chart or Astro Cartography) runs thru Taiwan, a sign of aggression toward Taiwan. The threat is therefore very real. China will invade Taiwan.
The computer chip manufacturing facilities of Taiwan are top of the line and coveted by not only China but the U.S. and others. Due to the strategic importance of Taiwan China must be very careful when and how it invades. Retaliation by the U.S. and other interested nations must be taken into account. Their invasion plans will receive upmost planning and preparation, including astrological ones.
Leaders of China deliberate cautiously and study different angles and projected outcomes before committing themselves. They withhold information. Sly, deceptive, and non-comital are other interpretations of their stellium in Libra. Military action, therefore, is well thought out in advance. Deceptive moves are made prior to any aggression reminding us of the Japanese ambassador’s cordiality before the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
American military strategists estimate that China will likely launch an attack on Taiwan in 2027. Although I am not privy to their informational assessment, astrology provides a unique and powerful means to determine if and when such a strike could happen. China is a strong military power having Mars/Pluto conjunction setting in their birth chart. They are provocative to say the least and more than capable – and willing – to take what they want by force. This aspect implies all-out war (even nuclear exchange if necessary) with foreign nations. Their strong military leaders encourage force but the government (Venus on Midheaven square Mars/Pluto) attempts to foster a more conciliatory approach. Xi Jin Ping, the leader of the country, is likewise always looking over options for economic leverage and dicey commercial deals that give China an advantage in trade and resources. This is clearly seen by the sextile between Mars/Pluto and the tight Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Libra. Their Sun (signifying the leader) is in Libra as well, not far ahead of Mercury and Neptune, meaning leaders may change their thinking when confronted with uncertainty, sudden unexpected events, and disturbing interruptions in plans (Uranus is square the Sun). A sudden, unsuspecting move on our part can upset their plans and create a pullback.
China has entered a transformative time. Trade with the United States has dramatically changed while new markets continue to be established in Asia, Africa, South America and elsewhere. Pluto transits the Chinese Ascendant (the people) in three phases during 2025, with the finale contact to the Moon coming in January 2026. These transits have mostly to do with trade but expansion of territory will also be on their mind. July’s events are particularly significant for naval activity, subterfuge, and misrepresented island bases.
Another slow moving transit, Neptune, contacts natal Uranus in three phases from April 2027 – February 2028 ushering in a radical, technological, and rebellious quality. A monthly transit to Pluto is involved in April-May as well. These are the signatures of sudden aggression. Transiting Jupiter ignites the Sun/Uranus natal square in September 2028 along with transiting Neptune in aspect with the Sun making for a whopping double Sun cycle! The Sun may very well indicate the fulfillment of long held aspirations. And this is no mere transit as the Sun is square Uranus in their horoscope and Uranus is at the midpoint of Mars/MC and Pluto/MC. Remember the Mars line running through Taiwan? This is a superb time to attack. Transits to successful Jupiter occur in December 2028, to the Sun in late February/March 2029 and to Jupiter again in April marking several months of stunning growth, victorious enterprises, and expansionistic thinking. It must be over by May 2029 or problems develop (transiting Saturn to Mars/Pluto and Uranus to natal Saturn).
Astrology does support the U.S. military assessment that a Chinese invasion or incursion of Taiwan is imminent.
