Kamala Harris

Kamal Harris

We hear so much about politicians through the media and social platforms that it is hard to tell truth from fiction.  Astrology has a long track record of describing people, so for all it’s worth, here is a short astrological assessment of Kamala Harris.

The Moon is rising and, therefore, dominant in her horoscope.  This position indicates her genetic personality – traits so fundamental they remain largely unchanged throughout the lifetime.  She is guarded but friendly.  Generous and good company, she is willing to help people.  Experience has taught her to tailor dreams toward the achievable.  Her imagination is strong yet forged along practical channels taught by difficult life lessons.  Her impressionable, impulsive, emotional and superficial lunar tendencies have been tempered by law, disciple, disappointments and mistakes (the wisdom of experiences) indicated by the Saturn sextile.  She often comes across disorganized, bewildered, dazzled, and superficial.  This is only part of the picture since the Moon sextile Saturn and trine Mars indicates a determined pragmatist when faced with specific issues.  Being open and receptive, and sometimes vulnerable, she is at her best when guided by rules, laws, and prepared notes or plans.  Kamala is adept at creatively pooling responsibilities into an action plan.  This alone would not take her very far except for the fact that her birth was during a Full Moon.  People supply her with the guidance and wherewithal to be a successful leader.

Much is said about her toughness as a prosecutor.  She is actually tender minded but the elevated position of Saturn (planet of responsibilities, rules and laws) directs her lunar instincts while the trine to Mars prompts her to take action.  She does not wither from difficulties and harsh tactics but rather reflects on how best to deal with them.  Kamala is not a great leader but, rather, an accomplished administrator.  She gains position, power, and prominence through important people (Sun setting square Midheaven).  An example of this is Joe Biden choosing her to be his running mate then bestowing upon her the opportunity to run for president.  She may even become president if enough people just vote against Trump.  Remember, people – even her adversaries – give her power and strength (Sun setting).

Kamala is a caring person (Moon rising) wanting to serve and help people (Neptune/Descendant).  She will work tirelessly to assist the general public (Moon trine Mars; Mars square Neptune).  She can be hard on criminals and perceived social ills (Mars/Neptune square).  But many of her efforts (Mars) have unintended consequences, go nowhere, or are misguided or misunderstood (Neptune).  Even the great responsibilities that come to her in the latter part of her middle years from people in power will not be fully realized (Saturn square Jupiter).

Kamala is a good team player capable of adapting and changing her views to meet popular opinion.  Although she changes her mind frequently to conform, and when convinced by advisors to do so (Moon opposition Sun/Mercury), her principles are solid and honest (Sun/Mercury trine Saturn).  Her ability to be tolerant and friendly with world leaders (Moon opposition Sun) and communicate with them honestly (Mercury trine Saturn) will help to stabilize U.S. relationships.  Her ideas, however, are largely not her own but those of a mentor, advisor, or leader (Mercury is on its south node and rises after the Sun as an evening star.)

It is true that Kamala is very liberal.  She has radical and extreme (Uranus/Pluto) values (Venus).  Perhaps obsessed with justice and equality, her progressive ideas (Uranus) and intense drive to implement them (Pluto) can transform the justice system.  She must be careful in scraping popular programs and laws replacing them with extremely controversial ones.  Many of her financial (Venus) ideas may be unique, extreme, or too disruptive (Uranus/Pluto).  The financial sector is where she runs into trouble.  Her borrowed Trump idea for no taxes on tips (Venus is associated with the hospitality industry), giving first time home buyers a significant down payment, and policing corporations for price gouging are bad financial ideas.  It is better for her to address the root causes of inflation.

She has wild ideas about finances (Uranus/Pluto conjunct Venus of money) and few of her big plans would ever be realized (Saturn square Jupiter), Congress would see to it.  She would, however, be a unifier.   She might try to spend vast sums of money on social programs; better if she revives the budget deficit from the death-spiral.

The race is extremely tight.  So what are her cosmic chances of winning?  The election is in a Moon year according to my Diurnal Planet for a Year direction.  This is the year of women – abortion, food and home prices, and immigration (the Moon is associated with the people in a national chart).  Kamala’s 60th year is a Moon year.  Mars, the weekly transit indicator, transits her Moon 10/24 and Sun (President) 10/28 right before the election.  During the election a weekly to Mercury peaks 11/7.  She also has transiting Jupiter retrograde square her Venus 11/26.  These are favorable signs of an election victory.

Another correlation with the election is the first encounter between the two candidates: the October 10 debate.  It was a pivotal night for her that could have sunk her chances moving forward.  She rose to the occasion and transformed her image as a candidate. Transiting Saturn retrograde was opposite her natal Pluto 9/15.  The last phase of this cycle peaks 1/11/25 along with a double transit to Mercury (Pluto as a monthly cycle aspects Mercury 1/7 and Mars aspects Mercury 1/2).  Remember the weekly transit to Mercury during the election?  It’s a tie in.  Her chances of winning are very good to excellent.
